I am a 24 year old artist that has found navigating the ever changing radical views of society a real challenge. I hold firm to the belief that there is no organised (or un-organised) group of people that hold all the answers to how we should live peacefully and in harmony. I believe that in order to progress we must change the way that we approach each other and deal with difference. There is no better solution to any problem than knowledge.
We need to create open forums of discussion for education and learning across all cultures, classes, races and religions. In order to create a harmonious environment for everyone to live in, i believe we have to create an understanding not just on what our differences are but also why!
It is my belief that all people have the right for a voice. All people have the right for equality. All people have the right to be respected.
But. All people have the responsibility to listen, to learn, to respect and to think. Everyone has something to contribute.
I do not think I have all the answers and i fully expect (and hope) that half of the readers will disagree with me, and I encourage this to spark healthy discussion between readers and myself.
Hate will only breed hate.
To change the world we live in, we have to start with ourselves.
I expect that the direction of my art and my ideas can contribute to a new world of tolerance. I hope that I can create the change I want to see.
I hope that my art to help me explore human relationships across cultures. I hope to create physical environments where attitudes can be explored and changed. I want the art that I create to be accessible and understood by all regardless of race, religion, status or education.
Art is a Media Form. It can be a platform for change.
